Formulation of the CDM component and PIN for the BRT project in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Under a contract with Swisscontact, SASA designed the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) component of this initiative which involves the substitution of part of the current public transport system in Santa Cruz with a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, in which buses with capacity of 60 run on natural gas with efficient fuel consumption technology. The switch from more polluting vehicles to new efficient buses expects to produce a substantial greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction whilst also contributing to the gradual substitution of liquid fuels with natural gas.

Baseline and Emissions Reductions Study, Monitoring Plan and Sustainable Development Impact Analysis of the San Ramón Electricity Generation Project. The project consisted of the implementation of a natural gas fired power plant in the Chiquitanía region of the Santa Cruz department. In the framework of an activity implemented jointly between the Santa Cruz Regional Electricity Cooperative and the Dutch Office, SASA carried out a baseline and emissions reductions study and prepared a monitoring plan, as well as a study of the project’s impact on the sustainable development of the region.
